Housing Stabilization Services

Family Cargiver Support
FAMILY/CAREGIVER SUPPORT

Services that address the health and wellbeing - physical, behavioral, social, and economic - of parents, families, and caregivers of young children

These services support people experiencing homelessness to find housing using vouchers, and those with unstable housing to secure long-term housing stability. Different populations of unhoused individuals and families, such as young parents, might have specific needs when it comes to seeking long-term housing. Multiple state agencies play roles in helping connect families with housing depending on their specific needs.

Equity Considerations
Massachusetts has an inadequate supply of affordable housing. This, on its own or combined with other traumatic events, can lead to homelessness. In fact, Massachusetts had the highest growth in family homelessness of any state in 2019.
